CRIPPLING BUSINNESSES, CRUSHING DREAMS: THE STATE'S LATEST BLUNDERS
Share
Yet again, the government has showcased its incompetence by announcing the closure of motorways, highways, and cities nationwide in anticipation of a protest scheduled for November 24, 2024. This knee-jerk reaction, far from being a measure of control, is an alarming testament to the state's inability to manage dissent responsibly. The people of Pakistan deserve better than a government that hides behind barricades at the slightest hint of opposition.
This blanket closure is an economic catastrophe in the making. Businesses across the country will be paralyzed, leading to untold losses in revenues, missed opportunities and shattered trust in a system that seems indifferent to the plight of entrepreneurs and daily wagers. Is this the “progressive governance” we were promised, or is it just another act in a never-ending circus of incompetence?
Federal and Provincial Governments that preached stability and economic growth is single handedly sabotaging the very foundation of both. Instead of addressing grievances and ensuring peace through dialogue, they have chosen to weaponize public infrastructure against their own citizens. The closures not only highlight their failure to govern effectively but also their utter disdain for the ordinary Pakistani.
This fiasco exposes a fundamental truth, this government is more interested in suppressing dissent than solving problems. They fear criticism because they know they have failed. The closures are not just physical they are symbolic of the regime’s inability to connect with the public and govern with accountability.
As the nation comes to a standstill on November 24, remember who is responsible for this chaos. It’s time for those in power to stop playing emperor and start acting like public servants because as it stands, they have failed spectacularly on both counts.
